The BenchSmith clientele list grows every year, because of our years of producing quality furniture. The BenchSmith
maintains it’s excellence by... Ensuring our wood is dried correctly (It is easy to say your lumber is dried
correctly). Lumber is imported from overseas plantations and brought to our shop. All lumber is kiln dried overseas
before it reaches our shop. This process is very good but may not be enough. To insure that all the lumber has even
moisture content - we use a method called “stacking out” simply stated, we stack the lumber to be dried evenly and
usually takes 2-3 months until we feel it is ready for the next step (Ask a local cabinet maker how important this is).
When it is at the desired 10- 12% moisture content we begin to mill the lumber through precise machining, CNC and
digital machines. This is considered 100% machine made, not semi machine made or hand made. CNC and digital machines
allow The BenchSmith to produce all of it’s products to exact dimensions time and time again. You may add to your
line of furniture in 5 years and you can be assured the will be same as when first purchased. The BenchSmith uses
Cad drawings for custom pieces and our standard lines. This method ensures the customer that they are purchasing
products to exact detail and dimensions and will not have to wait for the trial and error method of building furniture
that puts most of our competitors out of business every year. We spared no expense when it comes to the epoxy,
our philosophy; use the best adhesive available for outdoors. West System epoxy has been proven to be the best among
boat builders. It is a five part marine epoxy guaranteed to with stand the elements of mother nature regardless of
where you live. Quality control is part of our process from beginning to end. During the milling of your furniture
if a piece of lumber does not meet the exact specifications it is not used, if possible we will cut it up for other
smaller parts or discarded. This is why BenchSmith has become successful with all of our clients.
